What made you want to work for the Ivy Brain Tumor Center?
I was looking for something that allowed me to work with people who were passionate about helping others. After learning more about the Ivy Center, it was clear that I wanted to be on their team and support those making a direct impact to cure brain cancer. It is thrilling to work here knowing that the research being done is innovative and that the Ivy Center operates the largest Phase 0 clinical trials program in the world!
What does it mean to you to work for the Ivy Center?
I feel extremely accomplished in my role at the Ivy Brain Tumor Center because it gives me the opportunity to support those who are doing complex, intriguing research toward increasing life expectancy and ultimately contributing to a cure for brain cancer. What could be more rewarding?
What motivated you to get into the medical field, specifically research?
I feel the happiest and fulfilled when I am helping others. In working in the medical field I can make a real impact in people’s lives, while the research field challenges me to continue to learn and grow.
What’s the culture like at the Ivy Center? What makes working here different than other research centers?
The Ivy Center actively cultivates and fosters a positive environment to build its employees as a team. I have not previously worked for an employer that makes sure its team has the opportunity to do fun things together outside of working hours.
What is your favorite part about your job?
I love the people I work with and feel the Ivy Center has hand selected some of the best and brightest team members.
What is it like to know that you’re playing an integral role in identifying new therapies that will contribute to a cure for brain cancer?
It’s so fulfilling to know that I am part of a team that is working every day toward contributing to a cure for brain cancer. It’s also inspiring to see the challenges and obstacles being overcome to provide our patients with high-quality care.
What keeps you motivated when dealing with such a complex disease?
The mission of the Ivy Center of giving our patients more time with their families and those that they love is so valuable and keeps me motivated every day.
